Leadership is not about acquiring positions or titles, it is more about influencing one’s own life and taking control of one’s destiny. 

An institute ERP must promote hard skills and soft skills among students. Leadership skills are a part of soft skills that cannot be technically but adapted only through proper practice and example setting. Usually, teachers set an example. Recently, almost all learning procedures have been replaced with software for school management. Yet, this does not reduce the value of preachers because they are the ones constantly monitoring these tools.

This was an example of teaching leadership skills to standard setting. Naturally, when educators provide quality service and dating methodologies to the student, they develop good soft skills. 

Teacher’s Role

When considering a school environment, teachers interact with students constantly and give them the most opportunities to take up leadership activities. They impart lessons and practice skills necessary to foster growth among them. 

Leadership activities can help students;

Some ways of helping students develop leadership skills include allowing them to understand different viewpoints of a situation when put in groups. Every child functions differently In Group work. Some try to take up the most amount of work, others give away responsibility as much as possible. A good student strikes a balance. Initially, teachers might help out their students in groups but for them to develop soft skills, they should be instructed and then given the responsibility of handling a situation. 

Unless necessary, teachers should allow students to work independently. It makes them self-reliant, courageous, and more open to activities. A good leader is never afraid of doing something new or unfamiliar.

Activities to promote leadership skills

Volunteering

As a key to leadership roles, volunteering is a proven activity that promotes the skill. Talk to your students about the various volunteering roles available in a school environment. Interested kids can register and volunteer to participate in activities, such as assistance to the poor, social service, community service, etc.

Teachers must ensure that volunteering opportunities allow students to lead some part of the work or other, and every child is engaged in an activity of responsibility. 

Planning strategies

The development of every kind of skill starts with planning. Educators plan did everyday schedule, subjects, assignments, academic progression of the syllabus, and an umpteenth number of activities. Planning allows them to remain on track and lead all students toward success.

When children learn planning strategies from their educators, they prepare themselves for an academic year.

Quick quizzes

Quizzing students regularly builds multiple good habits. It prepares them for interactive sessions in a classroom, and they can answer better. Ask your students to re-evaluate they’re learning experience in a classroom. Once they are done with the recap, they are prepared to answer. Here, students were allowed to work on improvement of self and the knowledge they just received, and access everything carefully so that they can remember it all while being quizzed.

Dictation

As strange as it might sound, teachers can use dictation in a classroom to promote leadership values. When students listen, observe and write down, they are not only paying attention to the teacher but also to their friends to check whether everyone else is at the same pace. Some students would miss out, and look up to others for missed words and sentences. They might also adapt differently and simply leave out the missed parts to write down later. 

Teachers establish a healthy competitive environment in the classroom where students can constantly feel accomplished for keeping up with the teacher. This immediate incentive allows them to keep going and writing accurately faster. The Foundation of real leadership is a positive healthy competitive environment where everyone focuses on personal improvement and growth rather than trying to be better than others. Leaders are supposed to help others rather than focus on being the best.

Group projects

Bring together groups of compatible yet differently skilled students and allow them to coordinate. Students learn to be comfortable with differences in opinions and ideas and still act as leaders by being in Group activities.
